Nintendo Fun Club Podcast’s Halloween 2014 Game is Castlevania II!

Last Halloween we talked (for over two-and-a-half hours!) about the Resident Evil series. This year, we’re going to scale it back a bit and just talk about one game- Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest. But there’s a lot to say about it! Not just a “weird NES sequel,” Castlevania II is controversial, atmospheric, obtuse, ambitious, and influential- definitely a game deserving of its own episode.

As always, we’d love your thoughts about the game to read and discuss on the show!

We’re recording the episode a week before Halloween, so please have your thoughts in by October 24th, 8 PM CST!

Some Non-Leaked Screens of Smash Bros. for 3DS

Whoa, random! The Smash Bros. for 3DS demo just appeared on the Japanese eshop this evening. As soon as I read @iamnotagoomba‘s Tweet, I was all over it! I’ve played a few rounds and oh! It’s so good! There are five characters playable (Mario, Link, Pikachu, Mega Man, and Villager) and one stage in the demo (as far as I can tell). You can play single player and set the CPU difficulty or play local multiplayer if you happen to have someone with a Japanese 3DS and the demo nearby. Anyway, here are some phone pics I took poking around in the interface! Enjoy!

We Want Your Final Fantasy Music Memories!

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call releases in North America in just over a week (September 16th)! As huge fans of the original 3DS game and Final Fantasy music in general, we wanted to have a celebratory podcast prior to the release of the game.

The plan is to talk about everything from general FF music memories to Curtain Call’s new additions. And we want your input as well! What does Final Fantasy music mean to you? What is your favorite FF soundtrack overall? What track “gets you” every time? What new game addition to Curtain Call are you most excited to play songs from (check out the track list here)? What did you dig about the original Theatrhythm? (You don’t need to answer all the questions; these are just some of the topics we’re going to discuss on the episode).

We’d love to read your thoughts on the show and play some of your choice tracks as well!

You can email us at Nintendofunclubpodcast@gmail.com, post in the comments below, or Tweet at me (@brawndwarf)!

We’re going to try to record next Friday (September 12), so please get your thoughts to us by Thursday, kupo!
